It is with the deepest sorrow that we confirm CDEC’s founder and owner, Andy Duckworth, has sadly passed away after a short illness.
Andy, who turned 50 in January, was a loving, generous, family man with a true passion for improving AV within education and beyond.
After a career as a teacher and working in education management roles, Andy set up CDEC in 2000 and gave it his all, to develop the business to become the UK’s leading Educational AV Reseller / Integrator.
Andy’s legacy will live on through his children, and through the team he has built at CDEC.
CDEC remains focused on delivering an excellent service to our customers, whilst sending positive thoughts to Andy’s family at this incredibly sad time. All of the team at CDEC thank you for your sympathy and for respecting Andy’s family’s privacy.
In memory of Andy, we have set up a Just Giving donation page for the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, a charity which he held incredibly close to his heart as a lifelong Liverpool FC fan.
HJC is a remarkable organisation that continues to fight for justice for the 96 people who died in the tragedy on April 15th 1989 and provides ongoing support to those affected.
Andy survived the Hillsborough incident by sheer chance, but saw first-hand the devastating effect this had on his home city and it’s people. He was warmed by the togetherness and solidarity shown as his city came together as one; the Hillsborough Justice Campaign embodies this spirit and fight.
