Derby College

State of the art 3D solution for 100 Seater Lecture Theatre.

Derby College provides Derby’s young people and adult learners with access to over 1000 courses including A-Levels, higher education courses and apprenticeships.

The college serves around 25,000 learners and 1,500 employers each year, and has four main campuses.

The college required a new AV system in their existing performance theatre in the Joseph Wright Centre building. They wanted a 3D projection system that would transform the space to be used for other teaching purposes as well as increasing the potential of performances and events.

Derby College required the technology to be easy to use and maintain, with a cost effective passive 3D element. The solution needed to be compatible with the theatre’s existing sound system. The college also wanted the equipment to be housed neatly in bespoke furniture that looked the part and was personalised to the college.

Derby College’s drama theatre now bene ts from a state of the art 3D projection system comprising of a 5m xed frame silver screen and a passive 3D projection solution comprising of two Epson 3D G6650WU Installation Projectors to offset the image. With a capacity of up to100 the room is used for performances, presentations, lectures and external events. A bespoke lectern with college logo houses all switching and AV signal processing equipment, such as Kramer switcher scalers and HDMI Cat 5 transmission. A touch screen monitor is situated on the lectern for the manipulation of images on the screen.Click the link to read more from the case study
